What qualifications do you have as a night nanny?
As a certified newborn care specialist, I have extensive training in infant care, sleep training, and postpartum support. I also maintain current certifications in infant CPR and first aid. More information about my qualifications can be found here.
How many nights per week do you typically work?
This varies based on each family’s needs and budget. Some families prefer nightly support, while others opt for 1-2 nights per week. It also depends on my availability. I usually get booked between week 8 and 12 of pregnancy and rarely have full availability on short notice.
What are your hours of service?
My night shifts have a minimum of 10 hours. I usually work between 9pm and 7am. When working 11-12 hour shifts, I start at either 7 or 8pm. However, I’m flexible and can adjust to your family’s schedule and needs.
Do you help with breastfeeding?
Yes, I can assist with nighttime feedings, including bringing the baby to you for breastfeeding and handling post-feeding care so you can return to sleep quickly.
What tasks do you perform during the night?
My duties include feeding (bottle or bringing baby for breastfeeding), nappy changes, soothing, monitoring sleep patterns, and maintaining a sleep log. I can also sterilize bottles and pumping equipment used throughout the night.
How long do families typically use your services?
This varies greatly. Some families use my services for the first few weeks, while others continue for several months. On average, I stay 3-4 months with the families, but I am also available for shorter and longer bookings.
